Guidance, Stewardship, Strategy.

The Board guides a non-profit's success, ensuring its mission fulfillment, sustainability, and positive community impact.

Our diverse Board of Directors, comprising valley residents with backgrounds in forestry, biology, ecology, business, and trail building, collaborates to develop and sustain a diverse and inclusive trail network.

  • Brenda has been a board member of the Columbia Valley Greenways Trail Alliance since 2015 bringing a strong resource and planning background to the Board.

Brenda was project lead for Greenways Trails Vision Plan. This initiative was to promote a coordinated approach to recreational trail planning and development in the Columbia Valley.

Brenda is an active outdoors person, engaging in land and water-based winter and summer activities. My work on the Board is to ensure that the Columbia Valley continues to offer a variety of outdoor activities that are socially and ecologically appropriate.

  • Krysta was born in and grew up in the Columbia Valley, and has been on the CVGTA since 2012.

She lives in Invermere with her many pets, enjoys yoga and running - and recently picked up x-country & downhill skiing, as well as mountain biking

  • As founder of Nipika, Lyle can be seen around the resort most days- whether out on the trails, waxing skis in the day lodge, or telling stories to guests.

Lyle brings a lifetime of experience in sport and outdoor recreation leadership: two time Olympic Games coach with the Canadian Cross Country Ski Team; founder of “Fresh Air Experience” outdoor stores; and a national level competitor in canoeing, kayaking, and cross-country skiing.

Lyle is an avid Nordic skier, mountain biker, proficient mountaineer, and keen naturalist.

  • Upon his retirement in April 2019, after 21 years as owner/operator of the A&W Restaurant in Invermere, Eric discovered he now had time to get more involved in recreational trail advocacy. Later that year, he was nominated to join the Provincial Trails Advisory Body.

Since being elected as director on the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC in 2021, he has continued his involvement on the Outdoor Recreation Fund committee and chairs the ORCBC Policy Committee.

In addition to his role with ORCBC, Eric continues to work at a local level as Co-Chair for the Columbia Valley Greenways Trail Alliance and Treasurer for the Columbia Valley Cycling Society.

  • An experienced mountain resort professional with a strong background in operations, leadership, and business development. Guy joined Panorama Mountain Resort in 2018 and currently is the Director of Resort Services.

In addition Guy was appointed as the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI) Head Coach the World Ski Congress and an Inductee, Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance National Hall of Fame.

  • In 2008 Candice purchased a townhouse in Radium in 2008, her family would come out to the valley to trail run, to bike, to Nordic ski, hike, basically heading out to experience the many kinds of trails the valley has to offer.

In 2020 Candice bought a local business and got involved more in the local community.

The one thing that she feels is missing is a way to get to Radium to Invermere by bike that’s not on the highway. She misses her commute by bike, which was longer than her drive from Radium to Invermere. Having more sanctioned trail for all the various trail users in the valley is also something that she sees as a need.
